Press Release: "Superfreak"

It’s crossover time! Well, sort of. Caterina Scorsone, who plays Derek’s little sister Amelia Shepherd on Private Practice will be making a quick trip over to Seattle Grace Mercy West and Grey’s Anatomy on October 7, when she guest-stars in the third episode of the season, “Superfreak.” Check out the press release:

“Superfreak” – When Derek receives an unexpected and unwelcome visit from his estranged sister, Amelia, issues between the siblings — both past and present — come to the surface; the Chief tries to help Alex when he notices that he’s refusing to use the elevators after his near-fatal shooting; and Meredith and Derek continue their efforts to ease Cristina back into surgery after her post-traumatic stress, on “Grey’s Anatomy,” THURSDAY, OCTOBER 7 (9:00-10:01 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

Guest cast includes Caterina Scorsone as Amelia, James Tupper as Andrew Perkins, Dana Davis as Gretchen, Art Chudabala as Jerry, Omar Gooding as Danny, and Jolene Kim as Tess. Co-starring Sean Carrigan as Todd and Arlene Santana as nurse.

“Superfreak” was written by Mark Wilding and directed by Michael Pressman.

Mark Wilding has been with Grey’s Anatomy since its second season, having written numerous episodes. Most recently, he has written the season six episode “Invasion.”
