Another Crossover in the Works
Looks like Shonda Rhimes is gearing up for a fantastic February sweeps this year, as TVGuide is reporting that another crossover is in the works for Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practice. Following the alternate universe episode, “If/Then,” airing on February 2, which sees Kate Walsh returning to the series for the week, Caterina Scorsone’s Amelia will be traveling back to Seattle Grace Mercy West to assist on a case with big brother Derek and sister-in-law Lexie.
TVGuide says that full details of the crossover are currently scarce, but that the Private Practice half of the crossover will find Derek and Lexie in the episode, though whether they’ll be in LA at Seaside Wellness or still be in Seattle remains to be seen. Scorsone’s Amelia was also the object of the last crossover for the two shows, when the character visited Seattle at the beginning of Grey’s Anatomy‘s seventh season. But from the looks of things, it doesn’t appear this crossover is going to be as full-blown as that of the series’ merging in 2009, which saw multiple characters from each show swapping locations. However, in light of Amelia’s recent overcoming of drugs and alcohol on Private Practice, there is sure to be a lot of drama between the two siblings when they meet again this February.
