About Us: The Shondaland Source
The Shondaland Source was founded on May 16, 2006 – the day after the second season finale of Grey’s Anatomy – as “Obsessed with Grey.” We were a little Grey’s Anatomy-only fansite that mainly just came to be out of pure boredom and love for a show that was on a long summer hiatus. Much to the surprise of everyone, this new little fansite began to gain popularity and we quickly became “Seriously Grey’s” as Grey’s Anatomy entered its third season and the fansite continued to take off, adding more and more features and information for fans, and even creating some exciting connections that allowed us to pass along cool new features and information to our readers.
Six years later, The Shondaland Source is still going strong. We’ve gone through a lot of changes, and tried a lot of different formats, but today, we know exactly who we are and who we want to be: your #1 source for all the shows that come from the mind of Shonda Rhimes and her production company, Shondaland. As of now, that includes Grey’s Anatomy, its sister series Private Practice, the short-lived Off the Map, and the new series Scandal. We aim to give you all the information we can on these shows, including news, reviews, editorials to help spark discussions, and so much more. We’re not big on the spoiler front around here, though they do pop up from time to time of course, and we don’t do a lot in terms of those gossipy “Oh-my-gosh-look-who’s-out-and-about!” posts. We respect all of the people that work in Shondaland and want to make sure we do our part to give them the privacy that we can and that they deserve.
We hope you enjoy your stay here in Shondaland, and that our website will maybe help you learn something new or discover something exciting about some of television’s best shows. You can contact us here. And, last, but certainly not least, we must let you know that The Shondaland Source is not in any way affiliated with Shonda Rhimes, Shondaland, Grey’s Anatomy, Private Practice, Scandal, Off the Map, or the ABC Television Network or ABC Studios. We wish we were, but the fact of the matter is we’re not. So, no. We won’t be taking a look at your script to pass along to Shonda (yes, we’ve actually been asked to do that).
